We use 5/4 (1") tight knot & clear grade Western Red Cedar. This species of Cedar is lightweight and has an incredible thermal co-efficient, which means even on hot days it is cool to sit in. The bacteria and fungal resistance of the wood ensures long life. Most importantly, it is 80% the strength of Oak. It is the most desirable wood for outdoor furniture!
We use Ready Seal® natural cedar stain and sealer to protect and beautify, providing high aesthetic appeal and long-lasting durability – even under severe conditions.
The individually milled and sanded pieces are secured with 1 ¾" stainless steel square head fasteners and waterproof glue, assuring sturdiness and stability typically not found with “kits” or “box store” furniture.
